This video is ridiculously long because I wanted to show you all the products I got and do a full face of first impressions with them so you can see what I think about them! I have written more in depth reviews below on a few of the products that I found to be the most noteable. Let me know if you want reviews on any of the other products too!

I rebought:

  • Too Faced HangoverRX Primer
  • Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (Vanilla)
  • Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick (Shell)
  • Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner Pen (Black)

These are all products I have loved and can’t imagine not using on a regular basis. It’s safe to say they are favourites of mine.

XO Beauty Brushes Review

I grabbed a few brushes from XO Beauty to try out and I have to say they are awesome. If you are looking for good quality brushes on a budget you need to check out these brushes. The XO Beauty Flat Top Face Brush has fast become my favourite foundation brush! It gives an amazing finish to my stick foundations and does’t absorb too much of my liquid foundations. I still go over my liquid foundation application with a sponge to get a flawless finish but this brush spreads the product to evenly! If you want to check it out click on the link above (no affiliation I just think its an amazing foundation brush). I also picked up the Slim Crease Brush which is a lovely brush. I love that it’s so soft and flexible, great for blending and small enough to only get the pigment where I want it! I can’t wait to try more XO Beauty Brushes in the future.

Colourpop Cosmetics Product Review

I picked up quite a few products from Colourpop Cosmetics. I have always primarily stuck to buying MAC products when it comes to pigmented powder products (eyeshadows, blushes etc) because my experiences with cheaper brands haven’t been great in the past but I have heard so much hype about Colourpop that I thought I should check it out for myself. And I’m glad I did! The products are so affordable and so pigmented! Even although the Supershock products have a creamy texture they go on as a powder would, which means you can still use them on top of your powder foundation or set face! Both the supershock eyeshadows and the pressed powder eyeshadows blew me away. They are so highly pigmented but still manage to be really blendable which is such a fine line to walk.

I also grabbed their Lippie Stick Lip Primer which initially I really hated, I felt it made my liquid lipstick grab as it went on and go on patchy. After having worn it more after filming I now quite like it and reach for it often. The MAC Lip Primer required a good 5-10 minutes from application before putting a lipstick on or else it will slip. The Colourpop one needs to have the lip product applied immediately after it. I haven’t found that it gives my lip product longevity but it does create a great barrier between my lip and the product so it is awesome for days when I have dry lips or when I’m using a lipstick that has a tendency to show up all of the lines/cracks/dead skin on my lips.

I really don’t want to give up wearing lipstick when I have my baby, but I know I won’t be able to resist smothering it in kisses so I picked up three Colourpop matte liquid lipsticks to try. They are totally transfer proof, feel pretty weightless on my lips and last well (other than right on that inner line where my lips turn into the inside of my mouth). My only issue with them is that they dry down very dry and my lips are dry and dehydrated to begin with so the dryness is accentuated. Wow. How many times can I say the word dry in one sentence? I think you get the point. They are a drying formula. I find if I want to use them I need to ensure I oil my lips at least 20 minutes before I apply the product and then need to use a lip primer underneath. Due to the dryness of the formula I am also unable to build on the lipstick throughout the day (after I’ve eaten or drunk) and need to remove it and totally reapply it. Because of this I don’t find I reach for them as much as I reach for some of my other matte liquid lipsticks.

The biggest issue I found with ALL Colourpop products was that their shade was not what I was expecting based on the images on their website. I would definitely recommend looking at swatches before buying because I found that ALL colours were darker in real life than they appeared on the website.

Urban Decay Potion Eyeshadow Primer Review

I picked up this product as I have gone through my paint pot (which is what I have always used as an eyeshadow primer) and found it amazing to help with the longevity of my eyeshadows but I don’t like the skin texture it gives to my eyelids! I have also noticed that some eyeshadows don’t blend very well on top of it (even using a translucent powder to set the primer first). Recently I have been using the Nars concealers as eyeshadow primers as I prefer how smooth they make my eyelid appear. This was a bit of a disappointing product to me.

Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner Review

I have previously used the MAC Rebel Eyes Gel Liner Pen and hated it so I was sceptical when a friend suggested I try this one but boy am I glad I did! Normally these gel liner pens are not a friend to those with hooded eyes or crêpey eyes (of which I have both) as they give quite a thick line and require a taut surface for even application. This one with its flimsy little rubber pen gives such a fine line and the gel texture is quite a lot softer that the MAC one so it doesn’t need to be dragged so heavily across the skin. I love creating a winged line with this pen now!

I picked up quite a few more products (listed below) and if you wan’t to see my first impressions on them just watch the video above! I found a lot of great products.

Let me know if you would like me to do an in depth review on any of the other products I picked up and I am happy to oblige.
